Pastor Charles L. Webber and Family
Founder of Faith Ministries, Inc.
Charles L. Webber, founder of Faith Ministries, Inc. is a native of Shelby, NC. He is married to the former Audrey Ross and they have two children, Faith and Adam. His daughter Faith's premature birth, in which at the time she weighed only 2.7 lbs., was the inspiration behind the founding of Faith Ministries,Inc.
Pastor Webber has served the following churches, Shiloh Baptist in Shelby, NC, Elizabeth Baptist in Monroe, NC, Haynes Grove Baptist in Cliffside, NC and currently at Mount Olive Baptist in Kings Mountain, NC. While at Haynes Grove Baptist he also served as Moderator and led the Association in a $200,000 capital campaign to rebuild the Assembly Building which had been previously destroyed.
Since 2007 he has served as First Vice Moderator and Budget Director of the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Association. Recently, along with seven other pastors of Ebenezer Association, Pastor Webber became an original donor and contributor to an historic partnership between the Association and Gardner-Webb University in the establishment of the Dr. Samuel A. Raper Scholarship Endowment. This scholarship will serve to help many eligible students in attending the GWU School of Divinity. The scholarship has been initially endowed for more than $60,000. The late Dr. Raper served the Ebenezer Association as pastor of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Shelby for over 30 years and was the first African-American elected to the Shelby City Council where he served for more than 20 years. Dr, Raper had been previously awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from GWU. His relationship with GWU and the Ebenezer Association helped to create this historical partnership.
Pastor Webber's community service is extensive. He has served as a volunteer for Red Cross and as a member of the board of directors. He has previously served on the Board of Directors of the CC Girls Club, CC Abuse Prevention Council, Cleveland County Chamber of Commerce, United Way of CC, the Cleveland County Arts Council, and the Advisory Board of the Foster Grandparents Program. He is currently serving as a board member for Hospice of Cleveland County and is past-president of the NC Chapter of International Public Management Association-Human Resources (NC-IPMA). Pastor Webber served as the first Human Resources Director for the cities of Kings Mountain, Monroe, and Shelby, NC. Pastor Webber also served our nation as a proud member in the Army Reserves for more than 21 years for various units in NC, SC, Alabama and Georgia.
Pastor Webber's educational achievements include a BA degree in Sociology from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, and Master of Divinity with a concentration in Christian Education from Gardner-Webb University's M. Christopher White School of Divinity. Pastor Webber currently works as a Social Studies teacher at Burns High School and is host for the "Inside Shelby" program seen every other week on Cable 33 TV and the radio program "Faith Works" every Sunday on WGNC 1450 AM in Gastonia, NC.
